Respectfully, there are ‘9 Must Haves’ to make money from home. You would be surprised at how simple yet demanding they are.
Although most of these 9 things hold true for any job, they are especially required when working for yourself.
Look at the millions of people working from home today that have employers. To name a few, a work from home employee must meet following:
- Set a schedule
- Possess good work ethics
- Patience to do the job
- Commitment to perform at or above the standard
So why should working for yourself be any different? That is right, I should not!
If you have a job, give yourself 6 months to build some spare time income opportunities.
Leave only after you have tripled your current income (it does not have to be triple, but it would be better).
If you are unemployed, determine a means to earn $200 – $400 above what you currently spend. No, I am not trying to be funny.
I will show everyone some available options at the end of this post.

Do We Lack What It Takes?
Have you ever wondered if you had what it took to be self made? I am not talking about that time when you proclaimed “I can do a better job than ….!”
I mean really thought seriously about it.
We will do more for someone else’s business than we are willing to do for our own.
I am not casting stone, I live in a glass house too. Before starting my owns businesses, I fit into that very same mold.
On every job I have ever had, and it has been quite a few, I distinctly remember trying to giving 110% every day.
Incidentally, I noticed that I lacked that same drive when it came to my own personal ventures.
I am a winner, not a quitter!
Passionately, I believed in them; however, I was a poor excuse when it came to delivering on them.
I constantly took holidays and weekends off. Did not reinvest profits back into the business.
In essence, I denied myself any opportunities to be successful. Hell, I deprived myself of ever having a win under my belt.
If you are anything like me, then you know how it feels. I felt as though I was two bus stops short of being a failure.
It is difficult for me to believe that I did not have what it takes to be successful. Are you with me?
Most of us have never been educated to possess a mindset for success. We can learn what it takes to achieve; however, in most cases we survive out of necessity.
To be successful, we must reinvent ourselves with a go ‘getter’ mentality that can stimulate our ambitions.
To truth be told, I am only six months in on this new journey. Not only do I believe in what I speak, I am living it!

Is A Support System Really That Important?
Undoubtedly, having a support system is important to have. You need honest counsel when the going gets tough. And it will!
More importantly, you need the push of encouragement to help get you to the finish line.
Can you work without it? Yes, build your own or join a variety of groups with like-minded members.
No one should have to go it alone. And if you cannot find anybody, email me.
I had to get my own support system. In my new support system, my family is global. And I have access 24/7-365!
Even your FB, IG, and Twitter families has value. Think about it the next time you post.
By nature, we crave attention when we are involved in anything. Albeit good, bad or indifferent, we seek that acknowledgment.
It is okay, if you feel alone. I do most days, but I travel on. You can too! You just have to want it bad enough.
People only mean to you what you want them to mean. Their value, in your world, is set by you.
If your circle is small, then by all means grow it. People rarely have identities any more, they are just personalities.
Assume the personality of your business. Learn to be outgoing to achieve your goals.
You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. Taking this chance is unlike any other.
Good Work Ethics? I Am Not Ethically Challenged
The power of good work ethics travels a long way in today’s society. Good people are inherently attracted to good karma.
The expression ‘giving the shirt off of my back’ is a little under rated because people do not believe in it as much anymore.
Yes, some still live by that mantra, but in most cases, it only applies to people in their closest circle.
I do not pass up an opportunity to share what I have. Nonetheless, I would not want to be known for it.
If you could convince two people to convince to two other people, and have it repeat with each two people, to share something positive with two other people, we could potentially heal the world in 6 months.
What are the chances of that happening? Slim to none!
Our work ethics should be our everyday ethics. Ethics can be associated with morals.
All paths lead north, if you desire good karma.
I promise that if you do good be people (all people) you will realize blessings untold. Everything else is just hard work.
Yes, I am offering you a challenge. Twice a week, be selfless and gift someone unexpectedly.
Let pure spontaneity move you goodness. Even if you cannot give until it hurts, you will feel the goodness of your kindness.
Money Is Needed To Make Your Dream Work
Nothing worth any value is ever free. Any venture where you are seeking a return costs money.
You do not necessarily have to spend thousands of dollars to work from home.
Seemingly, you can join a number of plans that cost little to nothing or have a reasonable monthly fee.
It is all dependent upon your wallet. Whatever you are capable of managing will also work.
There is were I say “DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!’ Do not be led by anyone in this game.
Your cash outlay only affect you. With that said, be particular about choosing a path.
Verify the legitimacy of any investments. Find out what others are saying about any given options.
Remember, there are always three sides to the story. You have the opportunity, the reviewer, and then the truth.
People will use you in order to separate you from your cash. Do not fall victim; however, if you do, keep your eyes open to recognize the deceit and get out early.
Write-off what you must, but never stop trying!
What is The Deal With Finding The Right Type of Platform?
Choosing the right platform to express you business desires is essential to your success.
Should you choose affiliate marketing for example, check out a couple of the different types platforms.
Do not believe the hype that is spewed by many of the less than honest solicitors on the internet.

Furthermore, you do not always get what you are paying for. In my opinion, I recommend starting low at a place for beginners first.
Your experience level is irrelevant at this point. The process changes rapidly all the time.
Even though, some things appear to stay the same, studies show that is not always the case.

Training Offers The Opportunity To Build Your Skills
Building your skills is a must. How else can you ever compete? The business world can be a ‘dog eat dog’ situation.
Competitors are not friends. Therefore, to be in the top rankings of any business, you need training.
Whatever training that you receive should be in-depth and thorough. The methods should also be clear and concise.
You should be able to freely interact with the creator(s) of the platform. You can settle for simply being a paying member. Or you can reach for more.
The idea of training is to give you to knowledge to perform at or above expectations.
The platform should provide you with detailed insight into that in which you are embarking.
The platform should also have an ecosystem that is conducive to growth.
Does It Require A Lot Of Time To Be Successful?
Yes, it takes a great deal of time to be successful. Time, like the rest of your life. Once on the road to success, you can never stop.
Even once you get there, you cannot stop. At may become easier and the lifestyle more pleasurable, but…. And there is always a but.
Once you are successful, you have to work to keep it. You will not stop after your first million.

It may be possible to earn a million over night, but it is not probable. Your return will be based on your investment.
And that is not always money. Blood, sweat, and tear go along with the dream.
Think of it how you will, but you must be well informed on the tide you want to cross.

To truly be successful, it requires an unwavering commitment from you. Setting up a plan is how you achieve this.
Reasonably, you must demonstrate a trait of sincerity and make a pledge of purpose.
You must be willing to transfer your promise of success into reality. Being able to push through when you do not feel like it.
In an article, “7 Commitments You Must Make to Yourself to Succeed,” Sandeep Kashyap talks about commitments.
There are:
- Believing in yourself
- Taking massive action everyday
- Being adaptable and learning continuously
- Willingness to lose some sleep and saying no
- Not doing unethical or immoral stuff
- Maintaining proper work-life balance
- Never giving up
Kashyap had definitely said a mouthful. Notice how his seven commitment overlap with some of the topics we have already discussed.
Astonishingly enough, his presentation plays on several aspects of Personal Wellness.
Undoubtably, being your own greatest motivator is one of the keys to surviving difficult situations.
Meanwhile, trusting in your own capabilities gives you the drive to overcome self-doubt and take affirmative action.
According to Tony Robbins, “The path to success is to take massive, determined action.”
Similarly, there is a growing consensus that success demands that you act consistently until you achieve the results that you desire.
To clarify, adaptability implies that we must remain fluid at all times. Having the ability to change directions impulsively keeps us ahead of the game.
Earlier, we discussed in need for good work ethics; however, the importance of morals and values require repeating.
All things considered, quitting should not be a part of the equation. Revamping, modifying, or redirecting are all viable options.
Remember that success is just around the corner, but if you give up you will never know.
Persistence Is The Primary Tool For Success
According to Merriam-Webster, persistence is “the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people”.
The easiest way to become an expert is through persistence. Continuing to do the same thing repeatedly until you get it right is persistence.
In addition, we gain experience for being persistent. Each time we learn from our mistakes, we become wiser.
As we repeatedly make attempts, we learn the things the work and avoid those that caused us to fail in the previous attempt.
Moreover, we are motivated to works harder and apply more effort to achieve goals.
How is your ambition? Ambition is commonly connected to a persons ability to be persistent.
Persistence also reveals our weaknesses and faults. Once exposed, we become open to identifying corrective measure to strengthen our weaknesses and faults.
Studies show that the people around us can be affect by our persistence. Our level of persistence often inspires those around us.
Agreeably, failure is not a goal that we are pursuing; however, in the event that we do fail, what we do with that information decides our next actions.
Patience Is The Last Must Have
No business, brick and mortar, online or otherwise, succeeds overnight. In the event a venture takes off overnight does not make it a success.
Consequently, most brick and mortar business have a three or five year projection because that is generally how long it takes for the business to see a profit.
Comparatively, an online business is no different. Understandably, I realize that most do not want to hear that, but this fact is very true.
At Wealthy Affiliate, of which I am a member, suggests that it could take 18 – 36 months before a business takes off.
Some business take off before that estimated time period, while others take longer.
Needless to say, there are multiple factors that play a roll in the timing it takes.
In addition, that length of time is as much for you as it is for your website to take traction.
Your goal during this period is to become an expert in your niche, become an authority in you subject, and grow trustworthiness.
Most work from home businesses fail as a result of failing to incorporate time for growth into the plan.
In my opinion, a good bit of the responsibility for that is on the business owners.
By the same token, some of the advertisers for these work from home/online opportunities are deceptive.
Deceptive, in that, they fail to set the proper expectations and the prospects have no idea of what questions to ask.
The dream of getting rich over night is a powerful motivator for getting someone to commit to a program.
In reality, it takes time and patience to build any modicum of success.
In Conclusion
To be successful working from home, these 9 ‘must haves’ are essential to creating a lasting venture.
We all have what it takes to be successful. Following some basic guidelines is all it takes.
Having a support system helps propel us forward when things get tough. In addition, good work ethics add to positive interactions.
Most ventures require some type of cash outlay. Based on the choices, the amount of money needed will vary.
Finding a platform that meets most of you online needs adds longevity to the plan. Moreover, proper training increases the chances of success.
Time, commitment, and persistence are necessary to ensure that the opportunity is viable.
In my opinion, Affiliate Marketing, Online Course Creator, Author/Publisher, Blogging, and Social Media Marketing are several low-cost businesses to look at.
These are only a few picks; however, the actual list of opportunities is exhaustive.
